Game Design: "Squeak Up"

Gamebol presents - "Squeak Up"

GameBol, a team comprising of three students, decided to come up with a game that takes inspiration from three popular childhood games. The result? A fun word game, with Undir the mouse as the protagonist and Billu the blind cat as the villain.

The objective is for the player to learn English by eating 'alphabet cheese pieces' in the right order to form valid words. He needs to help Undir the mouse in his quest to win the hand of Rui. As levels progress, complexity increases with more number of pieces and more obstacles.

Our game prototype was made with Construct2 Game engine, which renders the game in HTML5. We attempted four levels for the prototype.

The role of the team members were as follows:
Rashmi Ingole - Art work
Srishti Rao - coding, prototyping
Prasanna Venkatesh - Storyboarding, coordinating art and code.

The differences in our prototype are the use of a digital timer instead of the hourglass, and the cheese blocks which are just square rather than 'cheese-like'. This is the first level of the game
