Ancient buildings on stone

The Palace der Nederlanden was built in the Golden Age upon the largest boulder ever found dating back from the Ice Age. In 1815 it came into possession of King Willem I of the Netherlands. The imposing building was used receive dignitaries from abroad.

Unfortunately it was destroyed by fire in 1906.

Material: Polymer clay, acrylic paint and a boulder

Made for the occasion of a visit by our new King and Queen, they will visit Beilen on 28 may. The expostion can be visited from 28 may till 21 june. Location De Markant in Beilen (the Netherlands).
