A sketch for one idea

Combination of an aerostat filled with hydrogen and a gondola-glider.
I suggest using hydrogen-filled balloons as an elevator, delivering the glider to the required height.
Then the glider, or the plane, makes a flight to the destination point.
The module with valves for filling and emptying the balloon is either disconnected from the airframe or retracted by the attachment cable.
The idea is to maximally divide the dangerous balloon and the gondola-glider.
It is possible to use a hybrid circuit.
After the balloon rises, some of the hydrogen is taken to the hydrogen fuel cells, which supply the gondola engines.
Another option is the creation of a kind of train. One carriage is an aerostat and a cargo under it, with the explosion of one of the balloons its weight is redistributed between two neighboring ones. In the explosion of all balloons, the cargo must descend on parachutes. A locomotive can be an aerostat with a gondola equipped with hydrogen fuel cells and engines. It's like Zeppelin, but it's divided into separate parts and stretched into a line. Or like a Chinese dragon!
