The Lona Frey Collection is an art exhibition displayed at UNCC's College of Arts & Architecture. It is on loan to the college for 25 years, and features many prolific artists such as Robert Mapplethorpe, Jim Dine, Sam Gilliam and Julian Schnabel.
I worked closely with the exhibition curator to design a catalog created to guide and inform the viewers. The catalog featured photographs of specific works of art, as well as informational blurbs on particular artists and their individual histories.
The finished catalog features a Neenah pearl cover with an embossed logo. This was chosen deliberately as to contrast with the explosion of color contained within the inner pages.
This project was a particularly challenging one for me as not only did I have to display many varying works of art, I had to do it in such a way as to not detract from the intricacies of the works, but rather enhance them. It was quite a liberating feeling to finally see the finished product and attend the exhibition opening!
