SINGLE MAN IN COLOUR
Single Man in colour was the result to the brief “filmic book”.
The brief was to design a book based on a specific aspect of a movie. My choice was A Single Man directed by Tom Ford. Along the movie there are several points where colour is the main focus as it distinguishes the good memories/pleasant moments of the main character versus its sad and darkest ones. To highlight this frequent change of state of mind, the director made use of the temperature and saturation of colours that allow the viewer to better understand those moments. <br>My book was exactly about that change of colours. I have selected every scene where the colour highlights, printed several shots and made a collage that somehow resembles a piece of that same scene. Pairing the collages, I’ve selected the most dominant colour and used it on the facing page alongside its colour code and a quote from that same scene for a better guidance towards the book.
