Volunteer Challenge Academy - Branding Campaign

Some background...

In 2017, the Tennessee National Guard and the State of Tennessee's Department of Children’s Services collaborated to develop the "Volunteer Challenge Academy," an innovative way to serve young Tennesseans and our state.  The academy offers youth between the ages of 16-18 who have dropped out of school and have no criminal record the opportunity to learn self-discipline, leadership and responsibility while working to obtain a high school equivalency diploma.

My job was to create an identity for the organization.  I was tasked with designing their logo, the official academy website, as well as some print / digital promotion pieces for marketing purposes.
Naming and brand

The program was dubbed the Volunteer ChalleNGe Academy. The "NG" in the name stands for "National Guard." Below are some early sketches, the final mark and the brand guidelines.
Web presence

The official website for the academy is tn.gov/tnvolunteerchallenge - a subsite of the State of Tennessee’s official website, tn.gov
Printed promotion
