Penn State University Table

End Table made with reclaimed wood flooring from the Penn State Rec Hall
Dimensions: L 34" x W 26" x H 30"

This Penn State University logo end table is made with reclaimed wood flooring from the Penn State Recreation Hall. This particular client graduated from Penn State University and worked at the Rec Hall while attending the school. The University put down a new floor in the Rec Hall and the client found some pieces of the old floor which were to be thrown out. The assignment was to make a table that incorporated the flooring into the design.
The flooring is sandwiched between layers of plywood; the top layer being cut into the shape of the University logo (Nittany Lion). The edge of the table is finished with a laminate to hide the seems. The surface of the flooring is left untouched, scuffs and all, while the rest of the table is painted white and navy blue. The legs are silver painted aluminum with adjustable feet. An elliptical template, slightly larger than the table, was given to the client to have a piece of glass made to go on top of the table.
