Ronika: 1000 Nights Poster Collection.

1000 Nights is a project created for Ronika, a Nottingham (UK) born singer-songwriter whose musical style is based on early 80s synth pop. I was asked to create a promotional poster for her single "1000 Nights" off her debut album "Selectadisc". The Brief was relatively open as I was free to make the poster in any style but had to incorporate reinvented information about the song title/artist as well as the architecture of Nottingham City.

The poster design was made in the Synth-Art style, a style of art linked to synth music and the 1980s (from which Ronika's sound is heavily influenced). The colour pallet of that art style is limited to cool neon pastels (pink, blue and purple); neon is also a feature of this art style and is part of the finished design. The neon present in Synth-Art ensures the rest of the design.

Overall, the finished design (above left) is successful at grabbing attention due to the layout storing the required information in the correct positions within the information hierarchy—using the correct typographic style and the altered photograph of the artist herself also helps.
The artist was happy overall and liked the experimental screen print to show that the design is versatile for use on other merchandise.
