Everlearn.io – 15s Broadcast Storyboards

Everlearn.io is a startup devoted to educating the US public about the issues surrounding the way higher education is sold and delivered. The traditional four-year college is part of the bedrock of our society, however the enormous financial burden those institutions now place on their students can’t be ignored. The Everlearn.io brand is modern, friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. They wanted to focus on their 4 core colors for a palette selection. They wanted a “softer, more rounded” approach as they are not a tech company, though they deal heavily with cutting-edge software and e-learning solutions. They wanted the debt illustrated in this :15 spot to feel heavy, so I made the money equivalent to boulders that were smashing the foundation of the graduate (our blue square friend) and chasing him menacingly. As the script progresses it talks about how the debt for students has grown and so the threat of the boulders grows accordingly, until it’s practically a tidal wave. A surfboard is used as an escape device to transition safely to the Everlearn.io screen.

In 1960, the average college grad had $4000 in student debt. Today, that number is 10X higher with some owing more than $200,000.
