Some type of sub-title
A Pin-Up is sexually evocative image, reproduced in multiplecopies, in which either the expression or attitude of the subject invites theviewer to participate vicariously in or fantasize about a personal involvementwith the subject.
Even in a genre as innocent looking as the pin-up, all theelements of patriarchal values are present in the exploitation of the woman assexual object and the objectification of the female as a piece of property tobe owned and ruled by men. Reflective in the pin-up is the masculine view ofwoman as passive-an object to be pinned up-and masochistic-existing for men’spleasure in whatever form it might take. Also reflected subtly in the pin-up,is masculine hostility toward woman. Pg 17 Mark Gabor ,The pin up.
