Ben Evans's profile

Marcato Studios

As a University of Memphis alumni, I was honored to have taken part in this project. Marching Band has always been an important part of my life and I'd like to think it was a driving force in creativity for the early parts of my film and video production experience.
This project was filmed over the course of a week at the Mighty Sound of the South Band Camp and was edited in Adobe Premiere and After Effects. If you were at any of the U of M football games in 2016 you would have seen this on the jumbotron before half-time.
We were recently contracted by Jennifer Bourbonais, the music teacher at Overpark Elementary school, to produce an audition video for the GRAMMY Music Awards . Here's one of the three videos that were created for her consideration.
There's nothing better than local music, and the Sleepwlkrs prove it. This video was shot in the sweltering Louisiana heat over the course of two days. All we had was a camera, lights, and gin, and I think we made them work to our advantage.
REACH is an Instrumental Jazz Fusion group based out of Memphis, Tennessee. We had the opportunity to follow them into the studio for a recording of their song "Spicy Rice." While I wasn't able to help with the filming. I did enjoy helping to put together the video.
