SweaterVest started out as a typographic experiment for my graduating class’ portfolio show poster. While brainstorming concepts for the poster, I knew I wanted to create a pattern with my classmate’s names. I decided to work with the idea that we were “cut from the best cloth” (it’s self-promotional after all). After looking at various weaving patterns, I chose a relatively simple grid and created the type out of that. Once the poster was finished, I wanted to play with the type a bit more on its own. Numbers, symbols, punctuation, and four weights developed.
