“If you don’t like it - push it to the side of the plate”.
My earliest memories are of wanting to do just that. Eating dinner - particularly meat - was not my favourite pass-time as a young child, and yet I was not allowed to leave the table if I refused.
These pictures recreate my earliest feelings about dinner - the alien look of flesh on a plate, the slightly odd Chinese veges mum cooked - the whole “otherness” of my confrontation with food.
