Brand identity - BCME: I luv my can campaign

I was commissioned by the Beverage Can Makers Europe (BCME) to create a logotype for something called
 'i luv my can'.

The initiative was a call to action people to create art out of old drinks cans, and needed to fit in with the body's existing logo (below).

The mark would appear at the head of a website that was being built for the project, and on any printed material connected to it.

The brief called for a mark that would appeal to a younger audience, from school age upwards, and would communicated a recycling message with a friendly tone of voice.
Below are the five logos that I shortlisted to present to the client. The colours and typeface (Vega) were set by the client.
In the end the design they went with was this one. It was used for the duration of the campaign which went on to be shortlisted for a gold in the European Sabre Awards for PR effectiveness in 2012.
