Diploma project for Budapest University of Technology and Economys - Architecture faculty
At the beginning I wanted to create a space on the river Danube that can host multiple functions and can assimilate to the needs of the location where it is at the moment.
It can be a semi closed space to give shelter from the sun radiation or rain, but it can be an entirely closed space too. It can open up to host events requiring free space, the deck can open up so you can use the pool in the middle.
The sun shades can be used as a canvas for projection. In the winter season the opened up spaces can be covered with ETFE bubble panels so the buildings thermal envelope could get closed.

The main idea is to create a place where the usually rushing, stressed out people from both sides of the river can find relief in the middle of the city, they, can relax, recreate, get entertained or simply just get into a relation with the water what they can rarely experience normaly.
The creation of the shape was inspired by the peblstacks of Zen gardens. which refers to both the calmness of the place and both wants to be an iconic part of the Danubes sight.
The main dock for the ship is an extension to Erick van Egerats 2. placed entrywork for the Danube bank competition Located between the Lánc híd and Erzsébet híd bridges on the Eastern shore. However it can dock at any conventional pier or dock.
