Kansas City Rep Theatre Identity for SAVED: A new musical. This project has just finished up. I struggled with this for a while. Finding a responsible middle ground for projects like these while maintaining some striking visual interest is tough enough when you are doing the assignment for yourself. It's a whole different place when you have multiple people involved in approvals. The film version tackled issues like faith, rebellion, choice, tolerance, and of course a little teen angst at a private Christian school. The local Kansas City production will do much of the same in a musical setting. Heavy as the themes seem to be, the production tone is actually pretty light, which helps explain all the pinks.
