Proposal for a public city branding competition

L’idea progettuale prende forma dalla ricerca e dall’attenta osservazione della visone morfologica della città di Grado e la sua natura. L’idea è quella di creare una identità dinamica della Città attraverso un semplice segno grafico che evoca le diverse caratteristiche che la compongono. Questo segno è espressione dell’ identità e della cultura del luogo, è metafora della biodiversità e della sua ricca storia. Il payoff che lo accompagna è ottenuto dall’intento di creare uno slogan forte e che evochi le numerose attività e attrattive che la città e il suo territorio offrono trasformando l’ultime due lettere della parola Grado nel verbo inglese “Do” e aggiungendo la parola anything, ottenendo così uno slogan in cui il senso di poter fare qualsiasi cosa all’interno del territorio, dalle attività ricreative alla scoperta della natura e della sua storia.

The design takes shape from the research and the careful observation of the morphologic shape of the city of Grado and its surroundings. The idea was to create a dynamic city identity designing a simple graphic sign that represents the features of the area.This sign is an expression of the identity and culture of the place, is a metaphor for biodiversity and its rich history. The payoff intent was to create a strong slogan and represents the many activities and attractions that the city and its territory offer. By transforming the last two letters of the word Grad into the English verb "Do" and adding the word Anything, thus obtaining a slogan in which the sense of being able to do anything within the territory, from recreational activities to the discovery of nature and its history.
