Air Malta — Design and development of the rejected branding for Romeo Aircraft
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Air Malta, the airline of the Maltese Islands recently added two leased aircraft to their fleet: coincidentally two lovers - Romeo A320 and Juliet A319. Due to cost considerations and the short-term lease, it was not considered feasible to paint the aircraft in the usual branding. So they launched a call for creatives to come up with the new design to dress up the aircrafts.
CHALLENGE
Creating greater awareness, preference, desire and advocacy for the airline itself as the preferred carrier to Malta, and in addition promote Malta as a preferred choice of destination.
LIVERY THEME
Bizzilla (Maltese Lace) - is a style of bobbin lace made in Malta. It is a guipure style of lace. It is worked as a continuous width on a tall, thin, upright lace pillow known as "Trajbu" while the bobbins are called "Combini". This type of lace making is very popular in Malta's Sister Island of Gozo, which is found to the North of the main Island.
