Woodland Deer Co. Fashion Label Concept

This project supports the environment by the use of recycled materials and local manufacture (hypothetically).
Fashion Label Concept for my Fashion Visualisation Unit
Woodland Deer Co.’s Winter 2017 collection was inspired by the forest
floors of the northern hemisphere and Nadinoo’s collection “Sounds of the
Woods”. “Sounds of the Woods” is a beautiful concept for a collection
which Woodland Deer Co. wanted to recreate in our own style. To do so
plain colours were chosen instead of patterns. These colours were pulled
directly from elements from on the forest fl oor, with ferns inspiring the dark
forest green, and mushrooms providing a contrasting ‘pinky’ grey colour.
The clothes have a warm, neat and fresh feeling to them, as depicted in
the mood board. Woodland Deer Co. provides clothes that women can
wear to work or on the weekend, as they can look professional and yet
casual.
To keep the clothes looking neat but casual, crisp materials were used for
the pants, skirt and cape, where soft materials were used for the blouses
and skirts to create contrast. Each garment can be worn several different
ways, allowing the wearer to choose what style suits them. For example,
the Petal Blouse is designed to be worn either tucked into a high waisted
garment, or left untucked to drape over the pant line.

Woodland Deer Co.’s love of the forest has bought about a message
through the brand: to keep the forest from harm. That is why with every
item purchased, a tree or fl ower is planted in a location where it will thrive.
Woodland Deer Co. is an anti-logging activist; therefore 100% recycled,
unbleached paper is thoughtfully used where possible. For example, the
swing tag is made from recycled paper and is cut as a square, instead of a
circle like the logo. This is to reduce wastage in the manufacturing process.
To further save the earth’s resources all the garments are a mix of recycled
and new materials and meaning not every garment is the same, making
each one unique, just like trees in a forest.
Please note that the woods image and the brown paper image in the background are not my property. This project was completed purely for academic purposes.
