Mericia Hougaard's profile

Braybrook Community Hub

It was clear from the client meetings that the council wanted this centre to be the hub, the go-to place, where all are welcome regardless of societal, ethical or religious dispositions. A place where community overcomes any boundaries.

The chosen concept is an abstract representation of connectedness and community.
The squares represent individuals and the different colours cultural diversity within Maribyrnong. The lines symbolise connecting with the Hub and each other. The advantage of this concept is that it allows for this expression of diversity but is unified in that it's all squares (we are all human) therefore bypassing any social, cultural or religious dispositions.
