Kodiak

Kodiak is a fly fishing store that specializes in tying and selling quality flies. Kodiak is known for their intricate flies that perform and produce excellent results. When brainstorming for this design, I knew I wanted the image of a fishing fly to be the main icon. The challenge of this design was creating an icon of a fishing fly that would be easily visible on multiple surfaces, environments, and packaging types. Since flies are so intricate and small, it was challenging to create a representation of this that can be used and visible in both small and large formats. With this in mind, I started by just focusing on a general outline of a fishing fly. Once an outline was configured that met my need, I used the same concept for the small threads, feathers, and details of the fly. My hope is that this design becomes the face and representation of Kodiak’s brand and easily communicates what type of products Kodiak offers.
