I’m success catalyst and life coach Peter Winslow. In many self-empowerment courses we hear about the “power of the word.” We discover that our words are a creative force that brings our intentions into being; we also see that they carry the power to help or to harm others with whom we communicate.
Can you remember a time when someone said something to you and it stuck? Maybe you got a genuine compliment and it made your day. Perhaps you'll recall the first time a bully called you a name. Do those memories still sway you emotionally?

These memories serve by reminding us that our own language carries the ability to move others. Our words are powerful transmitters of intentions which can easily affect the people around us.

To genuinely feel what we say when we say it transmits greater power than we might know.

Try an experiment: for the next day or two, pay attention to your words and see how they affect you, how they feel in your body and how easily they move your emotions. You’ll notice that when you react and speak quickly, your words don’t carry the same power as when you speak thoughtfully and confidently.

When we listen to others sincerely before we speak for ourselves, the words we choose carry greater integrity and deeper meaning. Take the time to center yourself before sharing your word and observe as the energy you transmit becomes a silent messenger of your inner purpose, relaying the powerful presence of intention that lives in your being.
