Learning By Design CMS Web Site

Case study
The Challenge:  First the publication was designed for print and a digital, interactive version was needed to help market the print publication. The publishing client who produces several seasonal publications, needed a more modern, capable, SEO-friendly web site that would be easy to maintain and update. The principal aims of the web site redesign were to provide a content and functionality enriched site with a design that supports and maintains the branding and style of the printed publication while offering an easy and cost effective way to update information.

The Solution:  The Open Source program, Joomla, was utilized to create a web site that is not only SEO-friendly, but also has organized content with a much more attractive design and logical user experience. By incorporating several modules offered by Joomla, a Jquery image slider, and content search optimization was created to offer a eye pleasing, easy to navigate web site. The most important objective was achieved with the Joomla design, keeping cost down by creating an easily updatable content management system (CMS) that can be maintained by several editors who have no HTML or web development experience through an easy to use content managed environment.
