An exploration into the stylization of sugar skulls.
This design features two skulls intricately decorated in the sugar skull style commonly associated with Dia de los Muertos. I designed each skull completely in Adobe Illustrator. The first skull is representative of feminine portraiture, while the second is male. The pair create a couple that is morbid, yet romantic. The piece is meant to reflect the belief of "until death do you part", implying a deep love for each other as they still appear side by side even in death.
