52 Pick Up: iPhone App

OBJECTIVE
Collaborative project with the lovely and talented Natalie Eyerman!The assignment was to create an interactive campaign while introducing a new social networking product to a digital environment. A contemporary dating game was developed using playing cards with pick up lines printed on their faces. There are four different deck collections that are used as fun “conversation starters” when going out to bars or nightclubs with friends. Each card provides a space on the back to leave a personal message or to write your name and number.

52 CARD PICK UP BANNER AD & MICROSITE
The purpose of the banner ad and microsite is to drive users to the web page so they can download the 52 Pick Up App. In the banner ad you can shuffle through a rotating carousel of cards, while tagging, emailing, or tweeting your friends.
The microsite or web game acts as a interactive platform to test out the cards in a virtual bar. Hand out certain cards and watch the reactions in the videos to get a playful idea of what to expect.

52 PICK UP APP
This non-traditional media is more than just a catchy iPhone App, it’s a social network allowing users to connect and interact with others in the same area.
STEP 1- Sign in using your account name.
- Personalize your info.
- Do you put on a different persona when going out with friends? Perfect
- Update your status depending on how you're feeling that night.
- Enter city/street address of the area you’ll be around.

- On your map there are pin icons representing how many players are in each bar/restaurant at that time. In this case, you can see where the hot spots are on any given night.
- Roll over each marker to view the name of the bar, and number of participants in it.
- Click to enter.
- STEP 4
- From there you can see the profiles and status’s of the players around you.
- Before you make your move with that questionable pick up line, think about breaking the ice with a conversation.
- See a recent friend or have a special interest in someone? Drop them in your friend box for the next time you’re out.
- STEP 6
- Start the conversation or learn more about them by using their profile link.
- When you’re ready, use the Pick Up icon to the left of their name.
- A series of pick up lines will pop up for you to shuffle through and “favorite” those you like best.
- STEP 8
- By this time you’re ready to make a move.
- If your cards aren’t handy, use your smart phone as the card itself.

THE RESULTS
What’s been created is a social dating network for connecting people while they’re out in the same area. Since only those who have downloaded the 52 Pick Up App can play, it leaves the “I’m taken” or “not interested” out of the question. If your playing your looking to have a good time.
