While working at Tetrarc Architectes I was involved to a very technical, yet extremely interesting urban planning project of Bus Rapid Transit system in Bordeaux. A BRT consists, above all, of a roadway system dedicated to buses, which gives them priority at intersections and reduces delays caused by passengers. The intended peak service headway is just few minutes. It gives the passengers a combination of the capacity and speed of a metro with the flexibility, lower cost and simplicity of a bus system.
