'Waiting For The Red Light' by Apachelux

Dance music has gone through many guises over the years, from 70s disco to the bright lights of 80s pop and the thriving club scene of the 90s. Just as you thought the genre was fading away, getting swept up in the tsunami of mainstream music that seems to engulf it these days, along comes a proper dance act to restore your faith.

That act is Southend-on-Sea's Apachelux, a dance fuelled duo consisting of Jay Wigmore and Louisa Strachan. The pair met at a festival back in 2014 and not looked back since, bonding over their love of dance music.

Listen to 'Waiting For The Red Light' here:
After receiving strong support and airplay on their previous singles, 'This Time' and 'Only When You're Lonely', the latter of which was featured on The Times' 'essential tracks of 2015', Apachelux have returned with the anthemic 'Waiting For The Red Light', which is no more and no less than pure dance vibes.

Retro-esque vocals combine with an echoing synth line and a thumping beat that'll have you moving, or at least tapping your foot, all before you can say 'dance floor?'

Jay and Louisa are clearly masters of their craft and a lesson can be learnt from them in how to build a quality dance track. The subtle changes in dynamics gradually amount to a perfectly timed drop, making for one of those classics 'dance-floor moments'.
