In 2011, I won the TEDx Amsterdam Ideas Worth Doing award with Project Metfarm. I thought that if you took Hydroponics set-ups with LED lights we could start testing vertical farms today.

At TEDxWageningen, I first proposed the concept of agriculture anywhere.  Yes perhaps the sun is free, but food miles are not, and neither is the destruction of eco-systems in exchange for our food systems.
