dm local branch in Bosnia and Herzegovina looked for menu design for their internal annual New Year’s dinner. Each Year the dinner is organised by different department, and in 2016 organiser was Informatics department.

The Client, dm informatics department from Bosnia and Herzegovina, wanted to have “informatics look and feel” for invitations, gifts and menu for the dinner. Client has chosen CD and its case for dinner menu.

After mind mapping process and experimentation, I came to the design for the CD cover page. I have transformed power button so that I have added a fork instead of the line. On that way the focal point of the design has double meaning – it is a dinner symbol but at the same time hardware power button and therefore it represents dinner organized by informaticians. Leading line that direct to this viewpoint is diagonal, which is at the same time common side of two triangles that form square or CD cover surface.

I have organised menu text in basic html code which reinforces “informatics look and feel”. Cohesion of the menu design is accomplished by using the same design elements with slight changes in scale or positioning for other CD case pages and CD.
