Deuce Bottle
The 1st self piercing, fun, new juice bottle for kids
Through my research I found that Juice bottles are one of the most problematic types of packaging for children. There are three main drawbacks to them. The first being that they use a foil seal that has to be removed; the seal can be sharp and children can potentially cut themselves on it, also spillage is easy when peeling it off. The second is that, when pouring, because the bottles are squeezy and have a large opening the juice ‘glups’ out causing spillage. The final is that children have trouble removing the small tight lids.

My design addresses all the problems and aims to exploit this packaging gap in the market. My design includes a self-piercing cap, an easy rest & pour spout, an oversized easy turn cap and finally has a second use as a toy car. The innovative lid with a simply turn to the right to pierces the bottles foil for you, it can then be opened and closed like a regular twist top bottle; removing the need for fiddly hand removal seals. When consumed the child can collect the bottle lids to turn a bottle into a toy car by simply clicking the caps into the bottle’s side.

All these features work with the bottles design to make it a fun, fresh and ultimately desirable juice bottle for children.
