Mobocracy - The Quiet Man Suite - London 2012

Mobocracy

Mobocracy is one of six screen-dance films that were produced as part of ‘The Quiet Man Suite’, a series of short films funded by Dancing for the Games and part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
Through inspirational dance and breathtaking cinematography, ‘The Quiet Man Suite’ explores issues of masculinity, strength, sensitivity, independence and cooperation amongst young men.
Working with over 120 young men across 20 different schools and youth groups over 3 different counties, Mobocracy shows us that for each generation, there comes a time when the masses will no longer suffer in silence. The mob will eventually take to the streets with one thing in mind…to fight back! Reclaiming what is rightfully theirs, they wield baseball bats, golf clubs and pool cues as they maraud their way towards the films heart felt conclusion.
"I just sat and watched Mobocracy...and wept. You did a stunning job. Creatively it is a really moving and beautiful piece of work. You should be very proud indeed."
Liam Steel – Artistic Director, Stan Won’t Dance
“Mobocracy far outstrips the quality and narrative of any other 'youth' dance film I have seen.”
Oliver Scott – Artistic Director, Mercurial Dance
“The film is exciting, moving and gripping. I’m very proud of it and huge congratulations to you for all the hard work that has gone into the shooting and editing.”
