Making the UnconsciousConscious is a metaphorical series ofconceptual portraits that reveal deep and hidden emotions. In this series, I have combined layersof the natural world with the human face. I invite the viewer to see the maskthat we all wear and consider what is behind it. And in the attempt, reveal theshared common experiences that connect us in our day-to-day existence.

The drips and cracks inthis body of work symbolize the imperfections that make us human and are aunique characteristic that runs throughout each image. I have experienced thistransformation in my own life. I invite you to embrace your own feelings ofdripping, cracking, falling, sinking and rising.
