Oh there are so many unique critters lurking beneath the surface of the ocean! I enjoyed picking some of my favorites to incorporate into the border of my niece's birthday invitations. Little 'Nessa (yes, very much like the monster) squeals with glee at the mention of sharks-- among the more docile of sea creatures. So these were a perfect prelude to her ocean themed third birthday party. I thought using watercolor was a pretty appropriate medium considering the subject matter. I did the painting by hand and then scaled it down and did editing magic to make the most of my little painted pretties. Getting Vanessa's likeness was the most challenging part-- but hey I love a challenge! The final product was printed to share with and delight many of our family and friends.
