The premise of this (controversial) project was to design an addition to Mies van der Rohe's Farnsworth House, with the programmatic requirements of a gallery and studio space. This design seeks to preserve the original structure and its views, with a re-interpretation of Mies' orthogonal and horizontal massing, evoking spatial transparencies. (Spring 2010)
