Don't Drive the HIGH way

PSA Poster Project - Don't Drive the HIGH way
Project:
Develop a series of three PSA posters.

Pick Topic:
I chose this topic because it is something that is becoming more prevalent.  As more states legalize marijuana use, we also have to educate the public on the effects of driving while high.  While some studies have found that driving high is not as dangerous as driving drunk, it still impairs the driver. The difference is that drivers who are "high" tend to recognize that they are impaired more than those who are drunk.  When alcohol and marijuana use are combined the drivers lose that ability to recognize their impairment and can be even more impaired.

Brainstorm:
Once I chose my topic I brainstormed unusual connections between the words in the phrase "Don't drive the HIGH way."

Design process:
I used Adobe Illustrator to create the various images needed and I used Adobe Photoshop to add the posters to the mock-ups.

I chose to go with a "cartoon" look because I thought it would appeal to the audience and make the posters more memorable.
