RYA: Sea & Sand Series
This logo is designed to combine sharp geometric shapes, with smooth, fluid lines, reflecting the contrast between sea, sand and boat.
The logo features a sharp yellow-orange against a deep blue, suggesting an exagerated contrast in colour between the sea and the sand. The sand portion is angled such as to draw the eye downwards and relieve attention from the dark blue, in which a yacht can be seen, concealed in the lines of the upper section of the logo.
The yacht has a duel interpretation, as it can either be seen as a boat, or as waves and clouds. The idea behind this was to illustrate how the boat, sand and sea are coming together for this new event, in which the RYA are bringing together competitors from Sailing, Windsurfing and Volleyball to compete in a competition that will incorporate aspects of each sport.
