March is a month which celebrates achievements of american women but is also commonly associated with a month of awareness on gender equality and respect. Also, March is a month celebrating IWD (International Women's Day) and the movement for women's rights.
Slam das Minas SP is an independent group founded in March 2016 by Carolina Peixoto, Luz Ribeiro, Mel Duarte and Pamella Araújo — inspired by a similar project from Brasília/DF (Brasil).
Initially the group was focused in gathering women for slamming (also known as "slam poetry) porpuses; but right after they noticed its importance as an open space for women expressing themselves respectufully, realizing their potential in society and finding their own voice.
In a world based on misogy, every women is a leader when stands up with courage and optimism, and soon they become important role models giving continuity in this everlasting feminism struggle.
The shifting is already happining, it always was.
