Average Typeface

Average Typeface is a project based on exploration of common attributes of various typefaces. We picked 50 different faces from all the typographic families: grotesk, neo-grotesk, geometric, serif, script, gothic etc., and overlayed each letter over each other, making them all 98% transparent. This way only the full overlay parts are 100% black, the rest is shaded from dark, most common shapes to very light rare attributes.

Outcome is surprisingly consistent and clean, democratically formed Average Typeface.
