Akzidenz Grotesk

Type Specimen Poster
I found myself deeply inspired by the International Typographic Style in Switzerland during the 1950's. Artists like Müller-Brockmann led the movement by creating many posters with a bold sans-serif typeface called Akzidenz Grotesk to effectively communicate to a culturally diverse audience.
The powerful origins of Akzidenz Grotesk in Swiss design are conveyed through my use of a modular grid, overlapping layers, and angled typography. I expand on the history of the typeface and its distinct characteristics making it stand out from a crowd.
