The project
Behmor already had an amazing brewer on the market, but they wanted to move into the future and expand their user base. By partnering with DADO Labs Smart Platform, we were able to not only modernize their brewing experience by developing a state-of-the-art integrated brewing app but reach out to more than just avid brewer fans.
User experience
I started brainstorming ways to make it easier for new and existing customers to interact with the brewer while giving them the flexibility they loved from their current, non-connect brewers. After researching multiple scenarios, wireframing, and prototyping I was able to find weak points in the flow, helping to create the ideal UX for all Behmor users.
Identity
Behmor was in need of a brand update, and I was more than willing to help. I freshened up the logo, colors, fonts, and added simple and clean iconography.
Design
Staying true to the UX, I moved to the design phase, applying the updated brand identity to the app design, keeping things clean, simple, and smooth.
The results
The brewer was a great success. It won the IHA Innovation Award for Kitchen Electrics in 2015, got rave reviews from CNET, PCMag, TechHive, and Amazon. It was the only connected brewer to be SCAA certified and it was picked up by Bed Bath & Beyond, Amazon, and Best Buy.
