This brief was a completion brief for YCN, set by the Royal Ballet. The brief was to create a creative campaign that dispels the preconceptions of ballet and targets a new audience to look at ballet as an art form.

My concept for this brief came from a friend who took ballet to make him a better boxer. I took this idea and created a campaign called:

Ballet: it made me a better..
DANNY MISAH | AMATUER BOXER

“The levels of physical endurance, pain and rigorous routine that ballet dancers go through to prepare for a show takes many by surprise. Ballet taught me the self-discipline needed to train and endure the challenges I face in the ring and in day-to-day life”
CALEB STEVENS | MUSICAL THEATRE

“The focus must not be on just the big picture, but also the finer details. Ballet helped me to convey emotion with my face and body, making the character I am trying to portray communicate better with an audience”
SCOTT TAYLOR |

“Musicians, like dancers, need perfect timing to create a piece of art that feels effortless and flawless.
Ballet has not only helped me with timing but also to feel deeper the music I enjoy performing”
DAVID SMITH | GRAPHIC DESIGNER AND TYPOGRAPHER

“Designers, like dancers, need to collaborate to create the best possible responses to a brief. They also need the determination to get things right just like ballet dancers. Ballet dancers inspired me to strive for perfection in all that I do and to not give up”
Ballet: it made me better.
