Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
Islands to Ice Exhibition

This was the first new permanent exhibition for the museum creating a modern look and creative direction unlike anything that had existed before it and set the precedent for the complete redevelopment of TMAG. With over 200 information panels, hands-on interactives, video displays, photographs and objects it was a mammoth task of visual curation and interpretation to create a space that was not only logical and consistent but also fun, exciting and engaging. The exhibition was a great success for the museum, attracting record numbers of visitors (10,000 in the opening week) and reinforced Hobart’s reputation as the primary gateway to Antarctica.
