Best Buy's MAX FORCE (Concept)

Website/Interaction Design for (Concept Service) Best Buy's Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
(Concept Project)

CONCEPT STORY: Best Buy's Geek Squad is in the process of purchasing a fleet of Mitsubishi's iMiev electric vehicles for use in 3 urban markets: Los Angeles, D.C., and New York. In the Spring of 2011, Best Buy will introduce a new service offering - Electric Car Quick Charge stations. The Quick Charge stations will allow electric car owners to recharge their electric vehicles (certified vehicles include: Mitsubishi iMiEV, Nissan Leaf, & possibly the Chevy Volt) at select Best Buy locations in less than 30 minutes. These Quick Charge Stations will be available in over 150 Best Buy locations in these initial 3 markets, early in 2011.

CREATIVE BRIEF: To capitalize on this opportunity, my mission for BestBuy was too create a brand micro-site educating the consumer about this brand new, never seen, never heard of, service involving the brand new technology of electric vehicles. The objective was to lead the consumer step by step into understanding the technology, electric vehicles, and the service itself by compelling interaction & rich content, while creating interest in the use of the service by community (social media) involvement & the Rewards Zone program.
