Korean director chanwook park is a master of films of revenge. Innocent people are driven to commit violent acts of vengeance and suffer the consequences of guilt. The vengeance trilogy is made up of four films–sympathy for Mr. vengeance, oldboy, sympathy for lady vengeance and thirst. Originally, these films weren’t an official series, but spiritual successors dealing with themes of revenge and violence.
