The Muses:
Live improvisational jazz, dance and art.
It is a series of three performances followed by an exhibit/showing to be scheduled for the summer of 2016
at Totts Gap Arts Institute http://www.tottsgap.org. The events will provide a public venue for improvisation involving the artistic disciplines of jazz, modern dance and visual arts. This will culminate in a public opening to present the work created by the visual artists along with a showing of a short film documenting the events.
TGAI primarily serves the 36,000 residents of the 10 Slate Belt communities of Northampton County, along with the southern Poconos and northwestern New Jersey. The area is culturally of european descent, with strongly identified Welsh, Cornish, English, Pennsylvania Dutch, Italian, Irish and Eastern European communities with 5-10% of Black, Hispanic and/or other race. An underserved, largely rural community, the Slate Belt has little or no direct access to cultural opportunities of this type.

Working with a grant that TGAI received I will be photographing and building a video about this project.
