Project Projects was commissioned to design the New York installation of the American Pavilion from the Venice Architectural Biennale 2008, curated by Aaron Levy and William Menking. The exhibition focused on socially engaged, diverse architecture practices that are redefining American architecture.
The show was designed first for presentation at Parsons The New School for Design and later traveled to the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. In both iterations, an emphasis was placed on low-cost, high impact solutions for creating an immersive and interactive environment. Painted entirely with green chalkboard paint, the walls and exhibition furniture encouraged participation and feedback by visitors and students. The exhibition design was created in collaboration with Saylor+Sirola.
