Streets capes change abruptly when a bare boring plot of land or building becomes an eye catching entity like the Madanayaka residence. The House fronts a quite residential node passing the Asiri Surgical and Oasis. The client was firmly decisive on the type of home he wanted for his family- “a functional abode, secured from the rest of the world while they relax”.
Only a mere vertical pergola panel and a few pure cubes painted in light shades of chocolate brown are put together ,fingering them back and forth to create setbacks and overhangs. The striking effect the design creates is simple pure form, in and out. The details are minimal, with only essentials required being allowed for pure spatial qualities to be staged.
