During the last year of my illustration degree, we were instructed to illustrate a chapter from Emil & The Detectives by Erich Kästner. I took this opportunity to learn something about puppet making, and learned as much as i could from tutorials on the internet. This was my first time using Super Sculpey, and sadly i didn't bake it properly, so it eventually fell apart. But the knowledge i gained from this project regarding sculpting, using wire, and making costumes, was a huge help to me in later years. Although i didn't end up animating these puppets, i did create some 3D illustrations with them for the purpose of the brief.
