WGBA/Se2 2012 Conference

Se2/WGBA Conference
Print Material
The Se2 conference is held every year in Wisconsin to highlight the last 365 days of green building and technology. The WGBA is a charter of the USGBC; a non-profit organization devoted to green building.

This year I was asked to come on board to give the conference a professional look while adhering to their strict ideals of a green and environmentally conscious future.

All paper was FSC certified and contained a minimum of 35% post consumer waste. All fabric was organic and/or recycled. Printing was done locally to minimize shipping carbon footprints. All inks were water/soy based and all cleaning methods of the printing equipment was environmentally sound.

For more information about the WGBA, go to www.wgba.org.
This masthead was used on all material relating to the conference. Various organizations, media outlets, exhibitors, and attendees received this to send to other potential interested parties.
The overall conference brand was designed to encompass their primary discussion topics; Urban Agriculture (orange), Green Building (lt. blue), Emerging Technology (blue), Hydroponics (green).
The previous designer of the WGBA logo left only a jpeg for future use. This was unable to be resized for print media so it was redesigned based on visual cues.  The end result was tested with the WGBA and it's board of directors and they could not tell the two apart.
The conference it self was co-presented by a group of energy companies within Wisconsin. They formed the group "Se2" and their logo was severely outdated and in need of an update. They previously had bold type-Times NR- that did not give the overall appearance of being clean and easy flowing. The end result was using blues and greens to match the WGBA logo and a few of the companies logos.
These items were part of the WGBA's giveway /raffle promotion at the conference. The shirts would be given away as raffle prizes, helping the group earn money, and the bags were "free swag" for the conference. The shirts were made of organic cotton and the bags were a mix of recycled canvas and new canvas. The screenprinters were local, based in Milwaukee's Fifth Ward where they use water based inks and use proper chemicals to clean everything.

I highly recommend them!
This was a postcard sent out to every member, construction company, architect and engineer who may have build a green building in the last year. The award would be for the most well designed green building that leaves the smallest carbon footprint.

Form for sponsorship options (another was designed for exhibitors and their booth choices, with a green bottom) which was also a pdf form that interested parties could fill out online and email right back. The eForm was downloadable from the website or could be emailed upon demand.  Printed forms were given out to interested parties at board meetings, other events, or within the WGBA office.
