THE STORY SO FAR
After creating & implementing the ‘Kampala capital city carnival 2012’ as the first of its kind in Uganda. A celebration meant to commemorate 50 years of Uganda’s Independence. A festival 2 Months in the making that lit up the city with excitement over a 100,000 strong audience at events in the city, 80 corporate participations and a commendation by the President of Uganda as the most well organized event. It won Real Marketing Group the creativity PR ideas award 2012. Since then it has became an annual event with a little re-branding.
ABOUT THE CONCEPT
In the same spirit, Real Group decided to replicate it to a more adventurous carnival in the second largest city in Uganda ‘Jinja – Busoga Kingdom’ with a tourism heritage & industrial heritage.
BRIEF
1. To create a special event in the Calendar of Busoga kingdom by creating special days for interface among its people and the world revolving around the coronation anniversary & Birthday of the (Kingdom King) Kyabazinga.
2. To create a special property/event cutting across generations and cultures that shall occur annually and attract local & international attention.
3. Drive the world to Jinja as a special African heritage hub with a history that delivers fun, entertainment and business opportunities.
*Hence, the requirements were to come up with a brand identity (Logo, slogan & brand colours) with a unique touch, publicity content to be done on BTL & ATL, creative social media marketing, PR coverage & getting sponsors on-board.
